Le Cocoon

Textile installation in cooperation with Levin Lehmann - Six month residency and exhibition project APTUS curated by Indira Béraud - Sarzeau (FRA) - 06/23

Le Cocoon seeks to integrate itself into the landscape rather than disrupting it. Inspired by local agricultural structures, the work plays with scale and abstraction.

By creating a microclimate that attracts not only humans but also insects and other small organisms, Le Cocoon  intents to foster an interconnected habitat where species can coexist. It invites to reflect on the delicate balance between human intervention and natural ecosystems.

Built from reused and repaired materials, the work emphasizes preservation and resourcefulness. Each stitch a gesture of care - to protect is to adapt. During the exhibition in June 2023, Le Cocoon hosted a food installation by Mexican artist Grace Denis.

Materials: Recycled oyster sticks, recycled plant nets, natural fiber cord

Dimensions: approx. 200 x 1200 cm
