La Cabane

Architectural installation in cooperation with Levin Lehmann and the inhabitants of Sarzeau - Six month residency and exhibition project APTUS curated by Indira Béraud - Sarzeau (FRA) - 06/23

La Cabane is an architectural collage and material archive shaped by interactions with Breton architecture and the inhabitants of the village Sarzeau. Over a period of six months, the installation has continuously evolved, following a process of observation, collection, repair and reassembly.

All materials and objects were gathered from the surrounding - each with its own narrative. Some were restored, others left unchanged, but all were carefully integrated into the structure. This method allowed La Cabane to grow organically, shaped by the environment and the contributions of those involved. Rather than a fixed design, the installation reflects an ongoing process, where space is formed through material reuse and local engagement. It invites to consider the role of found materials, the value of repair, and how architecture can emerge through adaptation and participation.

During the exhibition in June 2023, La Cabane hosted a sound installation by danish sound artist Aske Andersson.
